Ten on Tuesday

1. I'm going to be watching my friend's baby every Friday. Last week was her first day. She is a month old,  so she still sleeps a lot. There was only one hard part during the day. She and Noah woke up at the same time, and wanted to eat. They were both crying so I picked up Juliana and Peyton went into her room to give Noah his pacifier. I was making Juliana's bottle while holding her, and I could hear Noah screaming. I was calling Peyton, but she wasn't answering so I went into her room, and she hovering over him holding/shoving Noah's pacifier in his mouth with her pointer finger. He screaming around it, trying to push it out. Poor little duder. I don't think I'll be taking up Peyton's offer of giving Noah his pacifier anymore.

This is a really bad picture of both of them, but check out that size difference!

2. I ordered our Christmas cards, and I can't wait to get them! Every time I hear a loud truck I run to the nearest window to see if it's a UPS or FedEx truck turning into my driveway.

3. Noah is smiling a lot more these days. So cute! It's so hard to catch them on camera though. This is the best I got. I love his little bulgy eyes.

4. Last Saturday we went to the mall so the kids could get a picture with Santa. It is a horrible picture, but I wanted to buy it anyway. I wish I would have been more assertive, and asked them to move their camera, so there wasn't a huge gap on the right side while Peyton was practically being cut off on the left. Oh well, live, learn and then get Luvs. Noah has his head completely turned and is looking at a Christmas tree, and Peyton has a pouty lip and tears streaming down her cheeks.

5. The mall was already crazy busy. I'm not sure if it's because Christmas is just around the corner, a lot of the stores were having amazing sales (Gap had 40% off everything!) or because their wasn't an Alabama or Auburn game. I don't think we'll go back to the mall until after the holidays.

6. I rearranged the playroom, and Cory hung up new book shelves. It feels much bigger and looks cleaner. My favorite part is the book shelves. It's a rain gutter cut in half, a cap on each side, and screwed to the wall. Pretty cool, huh! I don't remember the blog that I saw it on or else I'd give them credit.

7. I tthought Noah might enjoy story time before Peyton went to bed last night.
I was wrong.

8. Noah slept so great on Saturday night, and I thought we were on our way to him sleeping all night long. Not so much. He has been sleeping horrible the last couple of nights! Oh, pacifier, you are such a blessing and a curse.

9. The other night Cory took Peyton with him to Publix. She meant to bring her dollhouse "daddy" with her, but forgot him at home. Cory said while they were shopping down and aisle she cried out, "Where my baby daddy, where my baby daddy". He said the people that were in the same aisle starting laughing, as he was trying to explain (loudly) that she left her dollhouse daddy at home.

10. I could not stop eating yesterday. Gearing up for the holidays I guess.

Not So Much Alike

Noah and Peyton don't look as similar as I thought. I thought they had the same nose, but it turns out they don't. Their mouths are different, too. I think Noah is going to be a little darker, but they'll probably both have blue eyes.  They are wearing the same Santa suit in these pictures. Peyton had more room in it at 4 months than Noah does at 2.5 months. Ha. Just in case you aren't sure, Noah is on top, and Peyton is on the bottom.

2 years and 3 months. You make me smile.

Every morning when I open Peyton's bedroom door she greets me with panting and barking.
She loves to carry things in her mouth, and push things across the floor with her nose. This morning she thought it would be a good idea to wear headphones. I love her silly self, and expanding imagination.

Funny conversations (to me) that we've had this morning that I don't want to forget.

Peyton: How 'bout that cake som (song)?

Me: I don't know a cake song.

Peyton: You know, happy birthday to you.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peyton pointing at me with a very serious look on her face: You scream.

Me: haha... I don't want to scream.

Peyton smiling: Wanna yell?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peyton: I'm the whale. You're the BIG whale.

Nothing warms my heart more than being called a big whale by my daughter. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peyton: Wanna sing twinkle twinkle little star?

Me: I don't want to sing anymore.

Peyton: Maybe we can watch a movie.

Kim: No thanks, I don't want to watch a movie.

Peyton: But I can.

Nice try kid, I said no movies this morning. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My parents sent the kids their Christmas presents since we won't be seeing them at all this holiday season. :( We have been giving Peyton a couple of presents a day. Apparently she knows they are in the playroom closet because she opened it this morning, and pulled out the gift bag.

Me: Oh, what is that?

Peyton: The presents! Yay! We did it, Wonderpets!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peyton: I don't want to play in the playroom.

Me: Why don't you read some books?

Peyton looked at her balloon and then threw it at my head.

Peyton: I gotcha.

2. I had two photo shoots in Huntsville this weekend.

3. The ladies from Cory's parents' church also threw me a baby shower for Noah this weekend. Noah got a ton of cute new clothes, and diapers (yay!). Peyton was loving the chocolate covered pretzels, and hanging out with the big girls.

Noah's new hat from Holly and Daniel. So cute! I accidently put it on backwards though. oops.

4. Not to wish life away, but I want it to be April tomorrow.

5. Noah's not wanting to sleep today, and Peyton's not wanting to listen.

6. Did you know Tina Fey's husband is only 5 feet tall? I just found out today.

7. Did you know the Beatles are on itunes now? I never knew they weren't.

8. I don't know how many weeks Noah is. I think I referred to Peyton's age in weeks until she was 16 weeks old.

9. Cory and I saw Morning Glory with Holly, Daniel and Erin. I liked it. I think the last movie I saw in the theatre was Invictus. I was definitely due. A big thanks to Cory's parents for watching the kids.

10. Darkness at 5 is no fun.

Holiday Card Promo

I love me some good snail mail. One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the Christmas cards. I love giving and getting them. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what I want our card to look like this year.  Lucky for me Shutterfly has a ton of super cute cards. Now all I have to do is pick out some cute clothes for Peyton, and Noah, and snap some photos. It's going to be quite a challenge getting a good picture of both the kids. If I succeed in one good picture of them together, I'm thinking about getting one of these:

I know full well that the likely hood of that happening is slim to none, and I'm okay with that because that just means I have an excuse to use more pictures. :)

I think this one is really fun!

I can totally picture a series of meltdown pictures down the side, and then one good one of me in the middle. JK

Not only does Shutterfly have a huge variety of holiday cards they also have a ton of  products that would be perfect Christmas gifts.

Would you like to receive 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly? You can do just that by going here.

Ten on Tuesday!

1. Tuesdays always seem to come up so fast.

2. I finally got Peyton to hold Noah again. I wish I had her dressed up cute, but I didn't think she would agree to  letting me take pictures of her holding Noah. Hopefully she'll do it again.

She looks a little too happy that he is crying, huh?

Uh oh, he's slipping.

3. We put our Christmas tree up last weekend. :) If we were going to be home for Thanksgiving I would have waited until the day after to put the tree up, but we'll be out of town. I wanted to enjoy the tree for a long time, so up it went. We haven't decorated the outside of our house yet. We'll probably do it next weekend.

4. The ladies at Cory's parents' church are having a baby shower for me this weekend. I'm pretty stoked about that.

5. It's shorts and t-shirt weather again, but at least the evenings require a jacket.

6. I'm very ready for Noah to be sleeping through the night.

7. It takes a lot of effort to get Noah to smile. I remember Peyton being pretty serious, too. I spent 30 minutes trying to catch a smile from Noah on my camera. 105 pictures later this is the closest I got:

8. He rocked tummy time though.

9. The other day we were listening to music in the car, and Cory changed the song. Peyton said, "Hey, I like that song". Cory said, "I don't like it". Then Peyton replied back, "it's my favorite song!".

10. We got a new tv! Merry early Christmas to us!

Though

Peyton loves to use the word "though".

Peyton: What's that?

Me: Cantaloupe

Peyton: I don't like cantaloupe. (she loves cantaloupe)

Me: That's okay. I'm just going to put it on your plate anyway. You don't have to eat it.

Me: You ate your cantaloupe! Great Job!

Peyton: I say I didn't like it though. I do like it though. Yeah, great job eating your cantaloupe, Peyton!

.........................................................................................................................................................................

Peyton: That's daddy's, (measuring tape) I want it though. He needs to share it.

.........................................................................................................................................................................

Me: It's time for your nap.

Peyton: I don't want to take a nap.

Me: I know you don't want to, but you have to.

Peyton: I still want to take a bath though.

Me: Sure you can take a bath, but after your nap.

Wordless Wednesday

I hope you don't mind that I stole this from fb, Kara.

Ten on Tuesday!

1. Cory's brother got married last weekend. Peyton was the flower girl... kind of. She decided she was ready to walk down the aisle almost half way through the ceremony.

Tyler and Caroline at the wedding rehearsal.

Caroline made Peyton a flower girl shirt. It's so cute! She cut out a flower from some fabric that she used to make decorations for the wedding, and sewed it on a shirt, and then stitched the word girl below the flower. Caroline is super creative, and makes the coolest things. I wish I would have taken some pictures of all the stuff she made for the wedding. I missed all the good parts of the reception because I was feeding Noah. Such is life. Even when other people are entertaining my children I'm still always watching to make sure they aren't causing any trouble.

Noah was doing what Noah does.

Everyone got lip whistles to blow when Caroline, and Tyler left the reception. Such a fun idea! Peyton called them pacifiers. ha.

2. Yesterday was rough! I think Noah's legs were really sore because he cried all afternoon, and would only sleep if I was holding, and bouncing him over my shoulder. Poor little guy. I felt so bad for him. Peyton decided she wasn't going to listen to a word I said. It was really fun laying down a screaming baby, and dealing with time outs. It was a bummer day because since I had the car I planned on running errands, and taking the kids to the zoo. I ended up picking Cory up from work early.

3. Our brake lights were out, and we needed an oil change, so after I picked up Cory we headed to Meineke. An hour, and 75 dollars later we were home.

4. Car maintenance is the worst. It's my least favorite thing to spend money on.

5. It's possible that Noah is actually 14 lbs 12 oz. That's what it says on the little paper the nurse filled out. I thought that when I looked at the scale it said 14lbs 2oz.

6. We planned on taking the kids to Trunk or Treat that our church out on, but we didn't feel like packing them up, and getting in the car, so we just went trick or treating in our neighborhood. It was so fun! There were tons of kids out. It took Peyton a while to work up enough nerve to say trick or treat to the people passing out candy. Cory said as soon as someone opened the door she just stood there staring at them. She was a pro by the end of the night though. We probably went to 10-15 houses before she decided she was done.

Noah. :)

7. Yesterday I planned on starting the 30 Day Shred, but didn't find/make the time. I could have done it after the kids went to bed, but all I wanted to do was lay on the couch, and watch Gladiator with Cory.

8. Whenever we watch Gladiator I always think of this skit:

9. Peyton has been potty trained for 4 months, and she is still peeing in her car seat. I don't get it. She does it all the time. Any ideas/suggestions?

10. It's raining, and it's lovely. It makes me miss our tv though. It would be grand to have a fire going while watching a Christmas movie.

2 Months!

"Little" Noah is two months old today! He had his well check this morning. Peyton was a terror, but Noah did great. He sounded so pitiful when he got his shots. :( So sad. He only cried for a few seconds, and was fine and soon as I picked him up. I didn't cry like I did when Peyton got her 2 months shots. I guess I was too distracted by trying to keep Peyton off the floor. He weighs a whopping 14 lbs 2 ounces! He is exactly one pound more than Peyton was at 2 months. He is 24 inches long which is 1/2 an inch longer than Peyton was.  The doctor couldn't get him to smile. The little guy hardly ever smiles. She didn't seem concerned though because he tracked her voice, and made eye contact with her just fine. She wasn't concerned about his flat head, and said his muscle tone was good. He's a BIG health boy! :) He is wearing all 3-6 month clothes, well aside from the white onesie he is wearing in this picture. He pretty much eats every 3 hours, sometimes a little earlier. We always get a 6 hour stretch of sleep when he first goes to bed for the night. Sometimes he'll sleep 4 hours after that, but usually it's 2.5/3 hours. He still sleeps most of the day only having about an hour of awake time in between naps. He's a calm, content baby, loves his pacifier, doesn't like his swing, prefers laying on the floor on his back, but will tolerate tummy time for a little while. These last 2 months have gone at a normal pace to me. I don't feel like they flew by or anything. It actually seems like Noah has always been here.

My chunky, serious, mellow duder.
