happy halloween

Happy Halloween, friends! I took these pictures last week, so there wouldn't be any pressure to get some  before trick-or-treating tonight. Can't wait to send my kid door to door to get me free candy. :) jk... a little. I'm not sure how long we will be out tonight, it's supposed to be pretty cold. We have a big bowl of candy to pass out though, so I hope a lot of kids come to our house!

Shark attack!!!

This was the best I could get of Noah...

he was outta there!

Rain Fun

Sorry about the lack of new posts. One of my favorite friends came for a visit. I have a lot of pictures from the adventures we had while she was visiting, but I want to share something from a few weeks ago.

How cute are they!? Playing in the rain equals some major smiles in this family.

Ten on Tuesday- Peyton says edition

Peyton makes us laugh all day long. I thought I'd write down some funny things she has said this week, and share them with you. Please excuse the lack of punctuation and such. I'm typing on our iPad, it's too much work, and I'm trying to get this post up before Tuesday is over, and I want to watch parenthood. There's my story. ::stomp, stomp::

1. Sorry, dad, I didn't mean to broke it.

2. I'm violet. If you call me Peyton one more time I will say I'm violet.

Cory- okay, peyton.

I'm violet.

3. Peyton made up a song the other day to the tune of twinkle, twinkle little star.

I love puppies so'o much, but I don't have one now.

4. Pretending to be Noah:

(said in a high voice) can I have some milk, dad?
(said in a deep voice) coming up.

5. I was talking about how quick the year was going to go by, and I said before you know it it's going to be mother's day, and then father's day...

Peyton exclaimed,"then daughter's day!"

6. When I was making my yarn wreath...
Peyton- are you making a tire swing?

Me- no

Peyton- well, it looks like one. You should pretend its a tire swing.

7. why are you making that noise, dad? Do you need to poo poo? Don't poo poo in the car.

8. Peyton- pocoyo is sleeping at home, but his eyes are open.

Cory- how do you know if he is at home?

Peyton- ::embarrassed laughter:: oh! Because I have super eyesight.

9. Peyton: when I went to school I kissed a pumpkin, and it turned into a prince.

Me: are you sure about that?

Peyton: yep!

10. Peyton: what are those blue and orange lights for?

Cory: Boise state

Peyton: or girlsie state.

Visit to the Fire Station

Two weekends ago we went to the fire station for some free food, and fun. Peyton had lots of fun sitting on different vehicles and hanging out with her cousins. She's never been a fan of hotdogs, but she did enjoy her cookie. I was more than pleased to gobble up a free hotdog, and down a free coke. It totally hit the spot... probably because it was free lunch. :) Noah didn't like his hotdog either. I thought hotdogs were an unhealthy staple that kids love. What's up with that?

I love the sense of community where we live in Idaho. The fire station was packed with kids and parents. There was a bunch of booths set up for different emergency services in our area, a couple games, free stuff for the kids, fire safety demonstrations, and free water, soda, ice cream, cookies, and hotdogs. :)

blah, blah, blah. This probably isn't that interesting to you, but I took pictures, so I thought I'd blog about it.

Ready to go!

Checking out what the big kids are doing in the back of the firetruck.

Pageant stance

"Hi, Noah!"

Sitting in the big firetruck, but really I just wanted to show you that I finally learned how to french braid. Not the best job, but I'm proud.

Apple Picking

I was finally able to fulfill a 2 year long wish last sunday, we went apple picking! We all had a blast. We pretty much had the entire orchard to ourselves. We were heading out as 3 cars came in. Peyton and Ty were in heaven running through all the trees, picking apples to their hearts content, and sampling along the way. Noah spent some time in Ergo, and then crawled around, and ate an apple. My mom, aunt, and I made two apple pies when we got home. There is something so satisfying about going to an orchard, hand picking your own apples, and then baking a pie from scratch.

Whistling with weeds.

Noah tried to whistle too. :)

Please excuse my kids' long, dirty nails.

Cascade and McCall

My parents just left yesterday afternoon. We had a great visit that went by way too quickly. Saturday morning my dad, Peyton and I went to my cousin's football game while my mom got her hair done. Cory stayed home with Noah while he took his morning nap. At about 2:30, after sitting at home searching the internet for something to do we decided to make a trip up to Cascade Lake. We haven't(including my parents) really been more than 45 minutes north of where we live, so we just wanted to check it out. I think Cascade is about an hour and a half away. We weren't planning on getting in the water, but the kids had other plans. Noah went straight for the water. I had packed extra clothes, so all was well, and we let them splash around to their little hearts content.

Peyton and my dad

Staying warm while she waits for her dry clothes.

Satisfied with a little lake fun, and new warm clothes.

We decided to head a little further north to eat dinner in McCall. We arrived at a picture perfect time. The kids weren't too interested in getting their pictures taken, so I snapped a few of the marina. I've never been sailing, but I think it looks like so much fun. I'd be too scared to do it in the ocean, but sign me up any day to sail on a lake! McCall is the prettiest little town. I'm sure we will make many trips up there throughout the years.

Peyton and her "trunk".

Crosswalks that don't have those signs that tell you when to go have flags for pedestrians to carry when they walk across the street. Peyton loved them!

The End.
