Peyton's Jack O Lantern

Peyton had a rough morning. Well, she's had a rough week. She hasn't been listening very well. I know she is pretty bored at times. I'm holding (feeding) Noah every 2-3 hours for about 30 minutes, and then I have to change him, entertain him for a little while, swaddle him, and get him down for a nap. During that time she is usually trying to hand me something to play with or bouncing on the couch around me or needing something... When Noah is sleeping I usually try to clean the house, do laundry, fix breakfast, lunch, dinner... etc. Instead of cleaning I took the kids on a walk, and once Noah was down for a nap I decided to do a craft with Peyton. She was all about it, and is currently eating her lunch with her Jack O Lantern. :) I need to make more of a point to have uninterrupted one on one time with Peyton while Noah is napping.

So anyway, the reason why you come...

ten on tuesday!

1. Sorry I haven't been blogging much. I just really haven't had much to say. Noah went through a growth spurt last week. That was pretty tough. It's hard to feed a baby every 1.5-2 hours when you have a 2 year old that still needs a lot of help.

2. Noah is already getting little michelin man arms. I'm embracing his chunkiness. It bothered me when people called Peyton fat when she was a baby. I was way more sensitive about a lot of things with Peyton though. I could have banged my head against the wall every time I heard someone say how much she looked like Cory. ha. I guess it was because I grew her for 39 weeks, had to give birth to her, and then all I heard was how much she didn't look like me. boo. haha.

3. I really think that Noah is going to be in 3-6 month clothes in a few weeks, so the weather needs to get another 10 degrees cooler!

This is a 0-3 gap onesie. It's getting a little snug.

3 weeks 5 days

4. Peyton loves Stuart Little 2. She will actually sit through the entire movie. Did you know Hugh Laurie is the dad in it? pretty funny.

5. I can't wait until Krista gets here! I miss my Cali friends.

6. I'm not going home for Thanksgiving this year. We are planning a trip to Cali in the spring though. This is going to be the longest stretch of time that I haven't seen my family.

7. I love when Peyton sings. She always messes up the end of songs, and I love it.

8. I also love when she does somersaults, and dances.

9. Cory and I watched, The Road, the other night. It was horrible. I had to watch a happy movie before I went to bed, so I could stop thinking about it.

10. I don't want to wish away Noah's little baby days, but man, I can't wait until he is a little more predictable. It looks like it's going to be a rough day. He is usually so easy, sleeps well, eats well, and is content just chilling anywhere, but somedays he just will not stay asleep, and eating is just all over the place. Of course Peyton is usually having an off day at the same time.

ten on tuesday!

1. It usually takes me a few hours to write these posts. I have to keep coming back to it as I think of things.

2. Mornings are the hardest time for me. I have to get Peyton up, to the bathroom, and eating breakfast all while putting a pacifier in Noah's mouth every other minute. By the time I get her situated, and I go to the bathroom Noah is HUNGRY! Peyton always finished her breakfast while I'm feeding Noah, and she usually has sticky hands, and touches everything.

3. I just have to get through these next few days of extreme heat, and then it looks like it's finally going to cool down. It's supposed to be 82 next wednesday. hooray!

4. We are going to have some water fun this week while it's still in the upper 90s.

5. The other morning when I changed Noah's diaper I found a wipe in it. Oops. I guess I left it in there during a middle of the night diaper change.

6. Noah will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. How can it feel crazy that it's already been 3 weeks, but at the same time feel like he's always been here?

7. When Peyton doesn't take an afternoon nap she gets really wild.

8. Did anyone watching The Event last night? I liked it enough to want to watch it next week.

9. I need a pedicure.

10.

Look at this little guy

Look at him all swaddled, sucking on his pacifier, looking at the fan, and just as content as can be. Noah is so easy! We have had a few difficult days, and nights with him, but for the most part he has been a breeze. Last night he slept from 8:30pm- 1:30 am, and then from 2am-5am, and from 5:30 am - 8:30 am.... and then the naps have just continued with some awake time in between. He hardly ever cries, and is just so cute when he looks up at you. Peyton was really easy, too. She wouldn't take a pacifier, and preferred to be bounced back to sleep when she was a newborn, but she was always a great sleeper and hardly ever cried. We can put Noah completely awake in the pnp and he will just happily watch the fan or suck on his pacifier before drifting off to sleep. I hope I don't eat these words tonight!

If I remember correctly the hardest time we had with Peyton was 6 weeks to about 4  months. She would get fussy in the evenings, and I'd have to bounce with her on the exercise ball or run the vacuum. There were a handful of times that she got overstimulated and it was really hard getting her to go to sleep and stay asleep, but it wasn't ever super awful. I know Noah is still really young, and is very much still in the sleepy stage, so I can't really tell how he is going to be as a baby, but so far we have been really lucky! I know some people can't put their newborns down without them crying, and have to hold them while they sleep. Thank you, Jesus for letting me have two precious babies that like their sleep as much as I do! :) I really am so very thankful for my little family.

Sister and Brother

I'm excited about watching this relationship grow! Peyton was all about baby Noah this morning.

I love that she is oblivious to him crying."

And that would be my 2.5 week old... not an 8 week old contrary to how he might look. :)

2 weeks

Noah had his 2 week appointment yesterday. He is now 22 inches, and 9lbs 8 oz. He has grown an inch since birth, and has gained 13 ounces in a week! I need to exchange some of his clothes for bigger sizes because I'm afraid he will outgrow everything before he gets to wear it!

 Post Pregnancy: 2 weeks

Weight Loss: 20 lbs I have 17 pounds to lose to get to my pre Noah pregnancy weight, and 30 lbs to lose to get to my goal weight. The 20 lbs that I've lost so far just melted off... and left my body in the form of a baby, but I have a feeling that I'm going to really have to work for the next 30. I don't even know how to do that. I have never in my life watched what I ate... it's going to be quite a challenge.

Sleep: If it wasn't for a baby that needed to eat and be changed in the middle of the night and early in the morning I would be sleeping great. :) It is so nice to sleep in any position and be comfortable, and to not have to go to the bathroom every hour!

Feeling: Great! I am feeling almost completely back to normal. My incision burns, and itches sometimes, but I'm not really in any pain anymore. I even pulled some weeds yesterday. :)

Health: Everything is good.

Belly: I ended this pregnancy with 4 little stretch marks, and a nice incision across my abdomen.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the ok to resume all physical activity. Perhaps I'll start running. I'm thinking about to the couch to 5k

What I miss: Can't think of a thing.

Cravings: I left this one on here because I feel like I'm craving more things now than I did while pregnant. Well, maybe not craving certain things just wanting to eat all the time. I want to eat all day long! ::sigh:: I chalk it up to nursing.

I wish I had a picture to post of how I look now for the record, but we all know how good I was at getting pictures while I was pregnant...

ten on tuesday!

1. Last night I gave Noah his first bath. I figured it was time. I think Peyton had already had a few baths by the time she was 2 weeks old. I had a much easier time bathing him than I did bathing Peyton for the first time. I guess all the jitters are gone.

2. The weather is still in the 90s, but the humidity isn't as bad and the nights are cool, so it's actually bearable. Last night I took Peyton on a walk and the temperature was perfect. I could have been wearing pants or shorts, short sleeves or long sleeves.

3. Peyton is currently having her own little dance party with her rolling pin. Every once in a while she'll knock herself in the head with it, and laugh. weirdo. She loves the Be Ok song that I have on the blog.

4. Today

5.  Have I ever mentioned that Peyton calls her poop "caterpillars"?

6. Daragan has pink eye or something. It's disgusting, and she's been banished to the backyard. I hope it clears up soon. It's always something with her.

7. Did anyone watch the Bachelor Pad? I was happy with who won.

8. I hope Lane wins Big Brother. He is so funny. Do you love how my life consists of lame reality tv shows? ha. Maybe one of these days I'll have a more exciting life again.

9. I wish our house would sell, and our weeds wouldn't grow so fast.

10. We bought some Marie Calendar's pot pies, and holy moly they are super fattening. Probably should have looked at the nutrition facts before I bought a whole box at Costco. I'll continue to eat them until they are gone because I hate wasting food more than I want to lose this baby weight.

A week gone by

My mom left yesterday. :(

We have been home for a week.

Tony came over to meet Noah.

We walked over to the park this morning.

Love my ergo. Noah fell asleep right away. I hope he continues to like it.

Took some pictures in the afternoon.

Sleepy Noah.

I'm loving the dress up stage Peyton is in. Having a girl is so much fun!

a small update and picture comparison

Every time I say something about Noah he seems to do the opposite the next day. So far every other night has been good. Last night was the worst night yet. I'm really hoping he sleeps better tonight. His belly button cord or as Peyton calls it, his belly booger fell off today. It makes diaper changes much easier for me, but I'm a little sad that I didn't get some good pictures with it still on. Peyton has pretty much lost interest in him. She isn't mean to him at all, but she is having some listening issues, so I definitely think she is jealous a little bit. She has given him a few kisses today, but she hasn't wanted to hold him again.

They look a lot a like, huh?

Labor Day

It worked out great that Noah was born around Labor Day. It gave Cory an extra day to be home with us. So sad that he has to go back to work tomorrow.

The girls had a lot of fun playing the backyard this afternoon. It's so nice having a friend for Peyton to play with because she doesn't ask me to get in the water with her. I got to sit in a chair, and watch while my mom took pictures, and Cory helped the girls slide. nice.

Peyton made up a song about "standing in the middle". She was very passionate about it.

And this little duder spent all day sleeping. I'm really hoping we don't have a repeat of last night. He was up from 11pm- 3am. I have no idea what was up with that. ::sigh:: He would fall asleep on me, and would be wide awake the minute Cory laid him down. We didn't have to deal with Peyton having her days and nights mixed up. If it continues, how do you fix it? I know he is only 6 days old, and is only up for like 5 hours total in a 24 hour period, but as his awake time increases I'd just like to know how to make sure that is during the day.

I also managed a little photo shoot. This is the only picture I liked. Peyton wouldn't hold him because she didn't like his "belly booger".  Hopefully he won't gross her out tomorrow. :)

Noah Thomas

From Levi to Tristan to possibly Miles to Niall...

Noah was born via c-section Sept. 1st. 9 lbs 21 inches. I'm so glad that I went with a c/s. Recovery has been much, much easier. I overdid it yesterday, and my incision has been burning today, but I'm feeling pretty good. Noah has been a champion sleeper with first 5 days, but aren't all newborns? I'm hoping he stays a good sleeper.

Peyton loves him. It's great. She has held him a few times, and shows no signs of jealousy when I'm holding or feeding him. I'm sure having Cory home, and my mom and Riley here has helped out a lot. She is busy running around with her cousin.

I'm enjoying the newborn stage a lot more this time around. I'm not as nervous or emotional as I was with Peyton. I'm enjoying holding a sleepy floppy baby. He is so sweet, and I love his round little head.

We actually haven't taken many pictures. Cory brought the video camera in to the OR so we have video, and a couple of video camera shots of his first day rather than pictures. Here's some pictures of the last few days.

Our last family picture with just one outside baby.

Getting prepped for my c/s

Peyton meeting Noah for the first time. She was interested for about 2 seconds.

Day 2 in the hospital

Getting ready to go. 4 days old

I don't know why I am even posting this... I guess so you can have a good laugh. So happy to be leaving!

Trying to get Peyton to hold baby Noah... a little skeptical at first.

Showing her his little bitty hands. She liked that, and warmed up to the idea of holding him.

Sweet big sister kisses.

We went to the park for a little while last night. I was so sick of being inside, and Peyton was pretty wild, so she needed to burn off some energy.

I only had one lady talk to me and judge me about having Noah out already. I figured no one would want to hold him or touch him, so we'd be good to go. That 45 minutes of outside time was fantastic for me. I totally over did it though, and have been in a little pain today. It was worth it though.

And this afternoon. Love this little guy!

Hopefully I'll get to update again soon.
