ten on tuesday!

1. We had a fun 3 day weekend. It went by much too fast though. We ended up not going to the civil war reenactment. The more I think about it the more I realize that it would have been really awkward. Seeing people wave their confederate flags... no thanks. Saturday we went to home depot to get trim for our window that has termite damage, and then went over to our friends' house. Sunday we went to Montgomery to visit Cory's grandparents, cousins, and aunt and uncle. Yesterday some friends of ours from Huntsville came down. We had lunch at Moes, hung out at the house, picked up some pizza and ice cream for dinner, and ended the evening sitting outside by the fire. I think we're the only people in the south that had a fire going last night. I have no pictures of any of these events. sad city.

2. I went to the dentist today. I hadn't been in 6 years. yikes. I do have a cavity, but I'm not too bummed about it. I thought they were going to tell me I need 17 root canals. Instead I got compliments. so hooray. I love going to the doctor and dentist.

3. The dentist was very impressed with Peyton. He couldn't believe that she wasn't even three yet. She spelt her name for him, and told him her birthday. I said, "yeah, she's a genius." He said, "I really think so!" :)

4. Noah has his 9 month appointment tomorrow. I'm guessing he weighs like 23 pounds.

5. Please ignore the mismatched outfit, and nap hair. Focus on that awesome "angelina ballerina" move. ha. Such a dainty little ballerina. I can't wait until she starts dance!

6. It is HOT. The humidity isn't bad yet, so I'm enjoying. I love having the kids play in their little pool late in the afternoon.

7. Hopefully this weekend I'll have a chance to take Noah's 9 month pictures. He's at a great age/stage. He can sit up really well, but he isn't crawling yet so he can't get away from me. Well unless he decides to roll away.

8. Have I shared pictures of the kids' room?

9. Peyton is completely out of diapers. yay! She will still have an occasional accident at nap or bedtime, but really she is doing so well. We just have to be sure to get her up to go to the bathroom before we go to bed.

10. You would think that thinking of 10 random things to share would be easy, but I struggle every week. I guess it's because my life is pretty much the same day after day. We have some exciting changes coming up, but they're not ready for the blog world.

Peyton: My ladybug has antlers.

Me: He has antennas.

Peyton: No, he has two not ten.

Ten on Tuesday!

1. Peyton no longer calls flashlights "tashlights". She still says things are "teelicious" instead of delicious, and "I will feel you better" when she is trying to comfort you.

2. I gave Noah some tylenol this morning, and Peyton asked for some. I told her she couldn't have any because she wasn't sick. She said, "I am sick. My head hurts, my belly hurts, my legs hurt, my knees hurt." Nice try, but its still not going to happen.

3. The other day we were at Target, and a lady standing in front of us turned around, tickled Noah feet and started talking to him. Peyton told her to be gentle, and then proceeded to tell the lady that her name was Marie. I love that Peyton is so imaginative, but I probably won't miss explaining to people that her real name is actually Peyton.

4. This is the cute little family I shot a couple weekends ago

5. We are going to a civil war reenactment this weekend. I'm really excited about it. We've lived here for 5 years and I've always wanted to go. Not that I love war, but I think it will be fun. I love to do touristy, and stereotypical things of a state. That's why I was always going to auditions for movies when I lived in California. JK LOL BRB IBDAL ISDAB AHHBIC

6. Peyton's been watching Pinky Dinky Doo. It's a nice break from Diego, and the theme song totally warrants for a dance party every time it comes on.

7. We're going to have a garage sale in a couple of weeks. I have a big love/hate relationship with having them. I always say no one is going to come after being outside for only an hour, and I buckle under pressure and sell everything for a dollar when someone tries to haggle me. ha. I'm always a little peeved when we have stuff left over. I mean, I don't want it, but its only a dollar surely someone else should buy it. I do love the cleaning out of the house, and making some quick cash part though.

8. Do you play the game " If we won x amount of money what would you buy" game? Cory and I do all the time. We always first spend responsibly and then pick out things that we would love to buy, but can't really justify the cost.

If we won the lottery or something I would totally buy this for Cory:

and this for kids:

Id' probably get one of these:

9. I've been totally slacking in the picture taking with my kids. I did catch this moment when I went in to wake up Noah. Super sweet, but definitely not fun when they are supposed to be taking a nap. ha.

10. Noah still isn't getting up on all fours, getting in a sit up position on his own, or pulling up, but I think we're going to need to lower his crib mattress soon because he is definitely working on it. This information was more of a disclaimer for the image in #9. ha. He looks like he could leap out of his crib.

Egg Hunt

Since Cory wasn't going to be with us on Easter we dressed up and took family pictures and had an Easter egg hunt the day before he left. You know for him. :) Or because I wanted to have a family picture of Noah's first Easter. :) It was pretty much impossible to get a good family picture. There is always someone making a weird face or looking away from the camera. Hopefully we will be able to bribe Noah with fruit snacks next year. :)

It was a fun evening minus the stress of really wanting a good picture. ha. Peyton loved "hunting" for eggs. And was thrilled with the $5.00 that was in her big golden egg. She wanted to put it in her piggy bank right away. I can't believe this was over a month ago!

ten on tueday

1. Last week felt so long. Weird because busy weeks usually go by fast. Peyton had a blast playing with kids her age everyday. I'm just glad it was only for one week. :) ha. It was nice being able to pitch in financially though, and I'd do it again if the chance arose.

2. I also finally finished editing pictures from the photo shoot I did the Saturday before Mother's Day.

3. Cory tiled the master bathroom last weekend. It looks great! "We" should have done it a lot sooner! We've had the tile sitting in our shed for a few years. It was left over tile from my parents bathroom remodel. My mom and I hauled it across the country when she gave me the Jeep. Weird to think I was pregnant with Peyton at that time. I don't ever remember being childless.

4. The weather had been cold here. So strange for the middle of May in the South. It's like a last hoorah. I'm definitely ready for warmer days though. I love spending time outside late into the evening. Cory is all about the cold days.

5. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to do birthday parties for the kids this year. I keep asking Peyton if she would like a "insert theme here" party, and she just says she wants cupcakes. Ha. We'll see...

6. I'm so glad that all our movies are on the external HD now! I love not having dvds taking up space.

7. I love the new carpet in the playroom. It's so fresh, and so clean, clean.

8. I finally feel like our house to do list has an end in sight.

9. I don't know, but I have been so tired lately. I never feel rested. My eyes just want to close.

10. Noah is crabby again. I think he is getting ready to cut another tooth. Poor little guy. He just had two break through, and was a happy little guy all last week. I hope this one comes through quickly and he gets a break for a little while. Its crazy to think that he might have a mouth full of teeth before he turns one!

Swimming!

You never really know what kind of weather you're going to get when you're in California. Most days were in the low 70s, but the Saturday before Cory left it was in the low 80s. Perfect weather for swimming and cooking out. We spent the entire day outside. My parents have a beautiful backyard, so I love being out there.

Noah even took a nap under the avocado trees.

Those were the only pictures I took because I wanted to be in the pool swimming, too. Fun, relaxing, perfect weather day!

Disneyland

For my mom's 50th birthday we went to Disneyland. We drove down on Tuesday morning, got settled into our hotel, met up with my cousins, and headed to the park.

I promise they were excited about Disneyland! HA! Getting 5 kids to look at the camera, especially when they know Disneyland is just outside their door, is almost impossible. After about 20 tries I gave up.

Then Mickey... which was also the last. ha. Not because she didn't love the characters just because we never anticipated getting sick!

Can you see Peyton in the corner? She couldn't believe she was meeting Mickey Mouse! She was shy, but so excited, and totally happy.

So proud to me with Mickey Mouse!

Our first ride! I rode with Gaven, so there isn't a picture of us. My dad stayed with Noah and Rem, Ollie and Riley headed over to the Snow White ride.

We were stoked to meet up with Haiza and Angela. Ang even watched Noah for us while we rode the Buzz Lightyear ride! Thanks, Ang!

Other rides of the day included: Thunder Moutain, It's a Small World, and The Woody Ride (at California Adventures). We had dinner at a BBQ place that night, and we are still unsure if that's what did us in the next day.

Wednesday, my mom's actual birthday, everyone was sick except for my mom and I. Well, I ended up getting sick that evening, but mine only lasted about 5 hours while we were at Disneyland. It did revisit a few days later though. What a sad way to spend your birthday. The only advantage was being able to throw the puke ridden towels outside of the door. I felt bad for the cleaners. I wanted to write an apology letter. Our rooms were gross.

My poor mom ended up getting sick on Thursday. Everyone else seemed to be feeling better, so we hit the parks again.

The first order of business was getting something into our stomachs and seeing if it would stay there.

My dad, the little kids, and I hung out by the lockers will Cory took Gaven and Robert on the rapid ride. I keep wanting to call it Thunder Rapids, but I'm pretty sure that's at Magic Mountain.

It turns out that Peyton still wasn't feel well. She slept almost the entire time. Poor thing wanted to go on Dumbo so bad. You can tell in this picture she isn't feeling well.

Right as the ride operator was telling us they were going to start the ride Peyton told me she was going to throw up, so I grabbed her and hopped off. :(

Peyton would wake up feeling a little better at times, so she did get to enjoy a few things: The Tikki Room, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid Carousel, and Nemo... hmmm, I think that might be it.

My dad was given 10 express passes, so Cory and I took Gaven and Robert on all the rides they wanted to go on. It was great, we were able to go through the exit and get right on the ride without having to wait in line.

We went on the Matterhorn twice, Pirates of the Carribean (Noah loved it. Peyton was sleeping in the stroller), the Woody ride twice, a couple of rides in Toon Town (I was pretty bummed that Peyton slept the entire time we were there. I know she would have loved it), the rapid ride three times, Soaring Over California... I'm sure there are more, but my memory fades me.

So while it wasn't the Disney trip anyone would have chosen we still were able to have some fun...well, maybe not so much my mom...

Noah is 8 months old!

My little man is 8 months old! This month has been exciting and challenging. While still a chill little dude by nature, his teething pain has turned him into quite a crab at times. He wants to be held more, and somedays I just count down the minutes until nap time. He has one tooth on the bottom that cut through a couple days after we arrived in Cali. It looks like the other bottom tooth is going to cut through at anytime, and his top two front teeth look like they're going to pop through his gums. Poor little guy.

He loves to eat, and will scream at me if the bites are too small or too slow. He loves, loves, loves bread. He can pretty much handle any table food I give him, but we're still doing mostly purees.

He is sitting up on his own now. yay! It doesn't look like he is going to be crawling anytime soon. I am so okay with that because I fear that he might be my child that gets into everything. He can clap on beat to If You're Happy And You Know It, I kid you not! It is so adorable!

He is still not sleeping through the night. He is getting up at least once for his pacifier. I know I say I'm going to let him cry it out every time I write about him, but I have yet to do it. I know its going to get harder as he gets older because then he will be able to call me. Maybe we'll bite the bullet this weekend. ::sigh::

The jury is still out on weather his hair will be blond or brown. I get opposite comments on how light or dark his hair is all the time. Cory says its way darker than Peyton's hair was at 8 months old. I don't even remember. All I know is that in a few months I'll be able to style it in a faux hawk which Cory will be less than thrilled about. Ha. We'll just have to trade off how we want to do his hair because I love little faux hawks on little boys.

I just love this rooney boy!

Ten on Tuesday!

1. I have been a horrible blogger. I'm sorry for those that are waiting to see vacation pictures. Things have been pretty busy around here and it doesn't look like its going to slow down anytime soon.

2. We had termites, so we had to deal with that. We still need to repair some damage on the trim outside one of our windows, and the window sill inside needs to be replaced.

3. We are getting new carpet in our playroom. We planned on continuing the laminate flooring that is in the living room, but Lowes no longer sells it. Cory was busy ripping up the old carpet when I went to Lowes to pick up the material. His phone was dead, so when I returned to tell him the floor was a no go he had already taken out half of the carpet. No worries. New carpet is a good alternative. I like wood floor better, but carpet will be more comfortable for the kids anyway. Hopefully its in by the end of this week! We have someone coming out to measure tomorrow.

4. I have a few photo shoots on Saturday. yay!

5. Next week is going to be crazy! I am going to have a house full of kids. I know for sure that I am watching 4 kids. Its quite possible that I am watching another one. I just haven't heard back from her mom. So if I have them all I will have 2 babies, 1 toddler, 2 two year olds, 1 three year old, and 1 four year old. I am going to be worn out, but its only for a week. Anything is bearable if you know its only for a short time. I've watched a couple of the kids before and they are super cute and fun. I'm excited about Peyton having some friends to play with all week.

6. I still need to take Noah's 8 month picture, and give a little update on him. He's changes a lot, I think.

7. It's already the 3rd of May and I still have my March header up. I will be updated that by the end of the week.

8. I can't believe Peyton only has 3 months left of being a 2 year old.

9. We have like 200 movies that we need to sell. I can't remember if I already wrote about converting our dvds to mp4, but that's what I'm doing. I'm almost done. I think I'm just going to sell the dvds for $1 a piece.

10. I wish I could nap when Noah does... if only Peyton slept during those times, too.
